Moisturise your scalp morning and night. You need to have soft skin. This helps the needle just get under the surface. It’s not like a regular tattoo, where they’re going deep and scraping it along. Scalp micropigmentation is just going under the surface of the skin. If it’s hard, the needle just bounces off. You get the best treatment with a softer skin & it will heal better in general. Moisturisers with natural ingredients, particularly coconut oil/ cocoa butter are ideal.
Exfoliate the day before your treatment, this will get rid of any dry/ dead skin and help to make sure your scalp is in top condition.
Cut your hair the night before (if applicable).Use clippers or razor but do it the day before, we need visible hair follicles to match up the pigment effectively. Grade 0.2 is perfect but if you aren’t sure, we can do it for you when you come in.
Avoid anything that might thin the blood.Such as caffeine, aspirin, energy drinks or alcohol. They’re going to thin the blood, and could create bleeding. This will affect how the pigment ‘takes’ in your skin and affect retention whilst healing.
Prepare yourself for what hairline you want.Have a look on Instagram, have a look on YouTube, any website, any SMP company, whether it be defined, or whether it be a soft, natural hairline. We can advise you but ultimately you need to have an idea of the look you want.
All of our consultant technicians have had the treatment themselves so you can see an example of our work in person. They will talk you through the process, answer any questions and you will never be under any pressure either throughout or following. We give you the information and leave you to decide whether scalp micropigmentation and Evoke are right for you.
